Lois Young, 63, passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, after being diagnosed with cancer. Her husband, Robert Young, died on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2025, after entering hospice care, their loved ones said.
The couple had been known for their devotion to each other and their family. When both began struggling with their health, Lois’s daughter, Sherilynn Russo, moved in to care for them and Robert's mother. Despite their family's efforts, Lois died while Robert was still hospitalized, and Robert's health continued to decline after he returned home.
Neighbor and friend Cory Artz, who launched a GoFundMe to help the family, said it was "an honor" to know both Bob and Lois.
"They were truly wonderful people who were taken so soon," Artz wrote.
The family is now facing the burden of funeral expenses for both Lois and Robert and is asking for the community's support. As of this week, the GoFundMe has raised over $1,000 toward a $10,000 goal.
